I've been up all night, studying, and yet I'm not the least bit tired of it. Tired, per se, but not tired
of. Fashion Studies is way more interesting than I could imagine. I'm in love with the '20s flappers. And the vamp of the vamp. The '20s is described as the crazy years - Les Années Folles. Art and lifestyle became one in a sense of surrealism. "
They gathered in Montparnasse, drank absinth, smoked opium, had free sexual relations, listened to jazz and danced charleston. The one being the most decadent was the winner." Who knew that the sons and daughters of the socialite going down with Titanic was as wild as the crowd head-banging on Woodstock decades later? So much for revolutionary wildness.
Yesterday I was at the Hallwylska Museum and saw an exhibition of nineteenth century dressing of the counter's family, which was what I stayed up all night studying further, analyzing and writing about. While doing so, I had the movie
Sabrina going in the background. The movie is from the '50s, in black and white, and stunning. Audrey Hepburn is stunning. So are these ladies.
