[Pictures taken about two weeks ago

Spent the day in the sun and in the water on the jetty. Lovely catching up with a few. July is starting tomorrow and I feel like it'll pass today. Scary, I don't want summer to be over. Ever. I did however buy tickets to the Way Out West festival yesterday with Sara. Vampire Weekend and Arctic Monkeys. That's something.

We're back - Peace&Love

The Peace & Love festival. I've watched the sun set and rise at the same time for five nights. I've slept on the ground. I've been burned by the sun. I've sobbed. I've felt the drums force the beat of my heart to follow its pace, sending out the music in my veins. I've danced myself wet with sweat and I've danced until my feet were sore of blisters and chafes. Festival is a lovely thing - but right now I'm mostly grateful for my bed, pillow, shower and silence. These are some of the captured moments:

Arriving, getting set. Day 2, Majk was clearly satisfied.

Me and Sara went to Laleh. Can't say I'm a fan, but cheesus she made me weep. Sandra and I went to a Yoga session, not too sober, I might add, but I stood on my head afterwards. Sandra did this in the camp instead.
Somewhat of a "poetic definition" of the camp. Sandra and Sara in the afternoon light.

No hands. Jesper sucked up the sun.

Carl Barat did an awesome performance. He played a number of Libertines songs, even some that Pete Doherty originally sings, and he made me shiver to my bones. To the right - our likely lads.
Sara did a somersault! When watching Pete Doherty I heard a girl cheering loudly next to me, and as I turned to look I noticed that it was a friend of mine who I didn't even know was at the festival, Isabella. We danced the whole time.
Hey Pete! First time I heard him doing Time For Heroes Live. One of the best things ever. Later that night Lykke Li did one of the festivals best performances.
Lykke Li was the one who broke the news about Wacko Jacko. She left the audience in a marked silenced shock.
Mötley Crüe was next, which pretty much was just a mess, and then Kleerup made us dance. After his show, which Lykke Li made a guest appearance to and was awesome, we met him and I told him what a great show it was. And I made a fool out of myself, with Sara by my side. I laughed until I cried.
Hot Sara. Watching Turbonegro and then falling asleep on a curb on the Winnerbäck concert.
Watching/listening to Mando Diao in the beer tent. Good morning.

Slagsmålsklubben was one of the best shows. I didn't dance as much on any other concert. They were very similar to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in the computer-monkey scene in Zoolander. Brilliant! Then we watched the later part of the third Winnerbäck concert, while wating for Håkan Hellström to get on stage.

Håkan Hellström did and awesome show as usual. This time for two hours. Then confetti filled the air and the last of all of the concerts was over.

Day of Cambridge

Finally home after a day of trial. I can't really say how my exams went, but I think I passed. I won't know until the end of august, so right now I'll just put it aside, pretend it hasn't happened until I receive further notice. It's too much of a nail biter in a way too early stage.

After my exams I did what I do best - shopping with an excuse. My excuse for shopping today was a laptop bag - and a darn handsome one as well, if I may say so myself. The excuse went well with the 10 % discount at Topman and along with the concept of it being a reward, or maybe a consolation (we'll decide at the end of august) for doing the exams. All in all, it felt good.

I sense that I am in a certain danger of becoming a shopaholic, but as the main subject of the girls dinner tonight was lethal inherited diseases, I find it to be a worry of low priority. Other interesting subjects at the dinner table tonight was semen-smelling cheese, irritable bowel syndrome and other water-spurting-out-of-nose-causing subjects. As delightful as always, today hosted by Moa.
Now I'm gonna go try and recover my brain from todays exploits, which is easily achieved by watching Seinfeld! Nighty night!

Good morning, ladies of cambridge.

I am totally, completely and fully awake! In theory, at least. I'm soon off to go do the written examination of Cambridge. I'm kind of excited, to be honest. Sitting in a quiet room for six hours without music or coffee, fully focused on a white piece of paper. It'll be interesting, to say the least. Painful - yes, but interesting. Or something like that.

Mysiga moster Mysan, skulle jag kunna få din mejl så jag kan skicka dig bilderna? Puss!

Imagination

I remember when I was about seven years old. When we had lunch in school, we would always compete about which line was the fastest. We would never take the first plate in the heap - that was dirty, touched by others and had taken all the dust in the air to protect the other plates - the second, or maybe third plate was clean and a good take. Then we would drink our plastic glasses of milk, and in the bottom of the glass there would be a number. From 0 to 9, and whoever got the highest number was the oldest person of age - and therefore the best, the winner. About twelve years later, I still often, out of habit, take the second plate in the heap, I still pick the shortest line in the cafeteria, but I never look down to the bottom of my glass. Because about ten years past the highest possible number, there is no use in dreaming about becoming the oldest. A silly wish to waste precious childhood moments on, since when you become older you wish for that imagination, those dreams and that nothing-is-impossible-feeling and that lack of perspective back. Where did that never ending imagination of mine go hide? I don't want to lose a single inch of what's left of it.

Lazy Sunday

Peace & Love booked Babyshambles as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Today: another brunch at Talliden, afterwards we rolled our stuffed selves to Josefina and Jesper's place to watch The Curious Life of Benjamin Button. Now: watching Austin Powers Goldmember with Alexander. What a day, what a day.

Lately

This past week is pretty much a blur to me. I know that I've been sleeping endlessly, that I've been reading and studying some english, but other than that all I remember is pretty much rain. So when my grandma asked me today what I've been up to this week I had to ask my mom. And so this is what:
Saturday 6th of June: Shopping during day and dinner at family friends by night.
Sunday 9th: Brunch with Amanda - we actually saw the sun that day. "Söndagsparty med Filip och Fredrik" at Mattias by night.
Monday 8th:  Sleeping the whole day through.
Tuesday 9th: Sleeping half the day, having tea with friend and cousin Josefina by night.
Wednesday 10th: Jojo and Anki graduates! Spent the evening with Moa, eating a serious amount of chocolate cake  and singing along to Disney's Sing Along Songs film.
Thursday 11th: Sunshine, baby! Meeting Amanda, Caroline and Moa for coffee (ergo the picture). Going to the amusement park Gröna Lund with Gymmix by night.
Friday 12th: Me and Alexander had a serious date, getting cosy with dinner and a movie. Randomly saw I Love You, Man. Awesome.
Saturday 13th: Celebrated grandma's 75th birthday! (even though it was on february 23rd, it was supposed to be a nicer weather to celebrate today. Ironic.)

And here we are. I'm aware of the lack of interesting facts, or whatever, in this, but it is nice for myself to know that I'm alive and actually doing things, since I obviously can't seem to remember it by myself. Sleep tight my good ones.

I've grown tired of these rainy days. But even though it was rainy and cold on Jojo's graduation day, she was still the hottest one around.

Brunch and napping

The brunch was, as promised, absolutely perfect. We were lucky to have some sunshine while we sat out on the terrace overlooking the lake and the green environment. We pinpointed what it looked like; a TV screen loop - to beautiful to be real. But it was. And so was the smoothies, the fruit salad, the waffles, the salmon, the mouth-melting bacon, the eggs, the cheese pie, the apple pie, the pumpkin pie, the raspberry pie and everything else on that heavenly decorated buffet.

Since then, I've pretty much slept the entire time. I fell asleep around midnight and woke up about five p.m., ate, watched a little TV and then fell asleep and slept for about another 12 hours. I think I'm awake now.

söndag 7 juni 2009

Yesterday I did some real good shopping. Say what you will, but shopping does make you happy. Soon I'm off to enjoy one of my graduation gifts - a brunch at the beautiful Talliden with Amanda. Brunch gives me infinite happiness.

Hot child in the city. Running wild and looking pretty.

Graduation!

04:45 - the alarm clock goes off - time to get up with Caroline by my side! Weather prognosis: terrible - not that it mattered.
07:00 - champagne breakfast at Marcus's house
08:00 - common champagne breakfast in the park
08:30 - heading for school
09:00 - picture-taking and writing in each other's graduation caps
10:00 - gathering the class with our mentors and getting diplomas and such
11:00 - all students to the assembly hall with principal's speech, performances and scholarship (of which I received one! Though in Sweden a scholarship is more of an acknowledgement to good achievements than anything, it's an honor.)
11:30 - final lunch. Speeches and performances.
12:45 - the run - where you run out from school and into the waiting and congratulating family and friends.
13:15 - driving with Moa, Amanda, Sara and Moa, singing and screaming and celebrating.
15:00 - getting home for the reception. Celebrating with family and friends and getting the most wonderful presents.
22:00 - heading out for the graduation party.
03:30 - getting home, time to crash. The best day in my life.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you everyone! I had so many emotions going on at once, and it was all touching and moving and fun like never. Thank you for making my day!
[Me and "wifey". Champagne breakfast at the man to the right!]
[The big champagne breakfast in the park! With my lovely girls]
[Serious celebration getting started]
[Class of economics '09 and our mentors]
[Serious entertainment and Sandra sang a beautiful song which made us all weep. Then the run. Me with me.]
[The best girls in the world in the car. More champagne.]
[Singing/screaming - happiness is there. Then we met up with the rest of the people that went with the truck bed. Rain doesn't bother us.]
[Best car ride ever. Then it was time to open some wonderful presents.]

[Graduation party!]

The night before tomorrow

Graduation is tomorrow, people! Tomorrow! It's getting close to insanity here. And today I've been a yellow-faced bitter smoking lady from the Simpsons in the great battle of the graduating classes. We finished fourth place, but I definitely thing that we put up a great fight! Caroline is on her way over, and the spa-treatment will soon begin. Have a great one, everybody!

Rainy Days

Good morning, my good people! Right now the rain is pouring down outside of my window, but I'm having a nice morning anyway. I'm sitting in my new - well not new, but new to me anyway - couch in my room, watching Breakfast at Tiffany's, eating my lactose free soured milk with my gluten free muesli (yes, I'm an hopeless case), and listen to the sounds of the falling drops. There's nothing to be stressed up about, and it's a strange, unknown feeling to me. In about an hour I'm going to the city. It's all good.

After I'd done my Cambridge examination yesterday, I thought that I needed a little something, so I walked around in the city and bought myself a lovely three-in-one dress to wear on the graduation party. It felt so good, knowing that there is one less thing to do on the list, walking in the summer heat in the city, watching all these beautiful clothes and listening to Vampire Weekend on my ipod. Then I walked to my dad's office, who'd been working late, and watched how he and his colleague did the cover for the next edition of the Swedish Runner's World magazine. It really intrigued me - when you know what photoshop can do you can do anything. It's like having a wand - you just do a little something and make a little request and the picture orders and turns out perfect. So after I'd gotten home, carried in the new couch and refurnished my room and finally gotten to sleep, all I dreamt about was being a trainee on an advertising agency, and every time I was suppose to introduce myself and shake someone's hand, I just couldn't get my hand to fit into the other person's palm. Like getting stuck in fingers or taking the person's wrist instead of hand and so on. Incredibly frustrating.

Now it's time for me to get ready - I have to get out so I can start singing about me singing in the rain!

One week later

I haven't been the most productive person this last week. Or, I suppose it depends on how you look at it. I've been working all week, and today I had my oral Cambridge examination. Only three days left now. All I have to do is dressing up as Patty or Selma (Marge's sisters) from Simpsons, clean my locker, return my books and throw a hell of a party. Thursday it is! Most resent news is that it will be raining and about five degrees celsius. It won't hold us down, though!

[This is my most interesting picture in seven days. It's my prettiest face - all for you.]
